Global warming will lead to a rise in the level of the oceans and seas, causing a serious deterioration of the climate over the next 1,000 years. Doha Bank also believes in Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which into force from beginning of 2016 after adoption of the same at the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit in September 2015.
The SDGs have been built on the success of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and aim to go further to end all forms of poverty. The new goals call for action by all countries, poor, rich and middle-income to promote prosperity while protecting the planet.
They recognise that ending poverty must go hand-in-hand with strategies that build economic growth and addresses a range of social needs including education, health, social protection, and job opportunities, while tackling climate change and environmental protection.
